Name: Doctor Gavin Compson
Age: 38
Profession/Specialization: The Doctor is involved with the budding science of Psychiatry, the study of the mind. He, like many of his contemporaries, believes in the study of the traumas of the mind by the examination of the past and by prescribing certain drugs, many of which may have unusual side effects.
Appearance: Dr. Compson is not a man of great stature or size, but he has a very pleasing face, high cheekbones and rather expressive blue eyes that he hides under horn-rimmed glasses. His dark hair is about shoulder-length, and he keeps it perfectly groomed. The doctor is almost never seen unshaven or in less than a perfect suit, often in brown tones tones.
History: No one in the inner city would know the Doctor's history farther back than his marriage to the now-late Lady Compson and his absorption of her title and assets. He is thought to perhaps be a distant cousin of hers, raised on her family's estates in Wales. Since that date, some twenty years ago, he has risen to prominence as a figurehead in the London Society as well as the medical and scientific community. In truth, he was a farmhand on one of those estates, became Lady Compson's personal carriage driver, and her second husband soon thereafter, though he has made considerable progress to erase his base history, and his accent and mannerisms would never suggest it.
Cultural Background: Gavin only has background in the United Kingdom. He has understanding both of the farming communities, the suburbs and the high society.

Adrian Varney is a member of the house of lords. He runs his estate - farms, horse breeding and some mines - and generally is typical of lordly types. he has had a good education.
He is also a witch.
Appearance:
6'5" and dark haired, fair skinned, he has one green eye and one violet eye. he is arrogantly handsome. He is always well dressed and very sharply in fashion except for a conservative taste for dark clothing and simple lines. He always has with him a fluffy angora cat. it also has one green and one violet eye.
History: Varney has been a known witch and 'cursed' since he had a tantrum at about 4 years of age and caused his nanny to spit up toads for several hours. he sometimes wears a monocle, which helps remind him not to glare people into hives or worse. His father was mortified that a child of his should be so magically and worse, darkly inclined. His mother left and went back to her country, somewhere in Russia. he was about 8 when she passed away, and 21 when his father was killed by anarchists. some malicious gossips suggest that varney paid to have him killed. or killed him himself.

Cultural Background: Varney is extremely skilled at looking like a lord and a rakehell. He actually does not drink or smoke - his cat does. He moves through the opera houses and opium dens, the high ton parties and the brothels and gambling houses with equal ease.

Profession/Specialization: She is a professional socialite most of the time, but her daily occupation is as a secretary for Dr. Gavin Compson.
Appearance: Scarlet is a tall, slim blonde with a perfect face, the sort of perfect beauty that wouldn't be out of place on a fashion model but is rather distracting in London. She wears her hair in intricate hairstyles, mostly updoes with pieces trailing around her face, mostly curls. Her dresses are cut to the style of the period, long gowns fitted tight over corsets, though hers are both lower cut and tighter around her hips than most and tailored in exotic fabrics from the Far East.
History:
Cultural Background: Scarlet is English, but from her mother's serving staff she learned much about Chinese culture
